Why didn't I get the OMNY fare cap?
You only get the OMNY weekly fare cap if every tap uses the same card on the same device. Switching between your physical Alice Card and your phone starts a separate count.
The MTA's OMNY program caps your fares at $35 a week (after 12 paid rides) when you tap with the same card and device. Read how OMNY fare capping works.
What counts toward the cap
- Tapping only your physical Alice Card.
- Tapping only your Alice instant card on your phone.
What breaks the cap
- Using your physical Alice Card some days and your Alice instant card on others.
- Adding your Alice Card to your phone and your smart watch, and using both.
