Connecting Gusto and Alice

This guide explains how to set up Alice up as your pretax benefits service provider.


Below, you'll grant non-employee administrator access to Alice in Gusto for all of your pay groups. Third-party payroll access is required in your Service Agreement with Alice. All the steps necessary to grant this access in Gusto are below.

Please note, only the individual who has the Primary Administrator permission profile in Gusto can create third-party administrators in Gusto.


Add Alice to your Gusto Account as an administrator

Only the Account owner (Primary admin) can add collaborators to Gusto.

  1. Sign in to your Account owner (aka Primary admin) profile in Gusto.
  2. Go to People.
  3. Next to “Add team member”, click the Caret, and choose Add collaborator.
  4. Input our relationship to the organization as:
    • Other collaborator
  5. Enter the new admin details:
    • First name: Alice
    • Last name: Financial
    • Email: alice@thisisalice.com
  6. Select the type of role as:
    • Global admin/Full Admin
      • This will give Alice permission to access the updated employee roster, create commuter benefit codes, input employees' pretax deductions for each pay period, reconcile our records, and allow us to run reports to keep our records for each employee up to date with yours.
  7. When you’re ready, click Save
