Body
Once your employer account is set up, inviting employees to Alice is automatic in most cases. Payroll integration pulls your active employee roster and Alice sends each eligible worker an enrollment invitation by email and SMS (if they've opted in). Employees can self-enroll in a few minutes.
The standard flow
(1) Employer connects payroll (one of the 30+ supported providers including ADP, UKG, Paylocity, Paycom, Paychex, Toast). (2) Alice receives the employee roster. (3) Alice sends each employee an invite. (4) Employee enrolls, sets their election, and gets their Alice Card by mail. (5) Payroll deductions start with the next pay period.
What employees see
An email and (with consent) an SMS with their personal enrollment link. The enrollment flow asks for basic info, commute election amount(s), and Alice Card mailing address. Most employees complete it in under five minutes.
Bulk invites vs. individual
For initial rollout, Alice typically sends to the full roster on launch day. For ongoing new hires, the payroll feed picks them up and Alice invites automatically per the cadence the employer configures.
SMS handling
Employees who provide express consent receive automated messages from Alice. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Employees can opt out at any time (reply STOP).
What HR needs to do
Very little. Alice has no manual open enrollment to manage. Once the integration is live, the invite flow runs on its own.
What if an employee doesn't enroll?
That's their choice. The benefit is opt-in. Some employees will see the FICA savings (employer side) only if their workforce elects in. Alice publishes enrollment communication templates HR can adapt.
