How does Alice Card work?
Alice Card is your Visa commercial card for eligible parking and transit spending. You tap or swipe at the merchant, the charge goes through right away, and the pretax deduction for what you spent shows up on an upcoming paycheck.
You don't pay first and wait for a reimbursement
With Alice Card you are not pre-loading a balance, contributing in advance, or carrying money in a wallet you cannot touch. Alice fronts the funds at the moment of purchase. Then the pretax deduction comes out of an upcoming paycheck to cover what you spent.
Because the deduction is pretax, you are not paying federal, state, or FICA taxes on the income that covers those rides or parking sessions. You keep more of what you make, right in your paycheck. Most frontline employees see roughly 20% in "cash back" on eligible commuter spending — actual savings depend on your tax rate.
When the "reimbursement" happens
When you spend with Alice Card, the reimbursement effectively happens at the point of sale: you got the goods or service up front, and the deduction that covers it is taken from pretax wages later. You do not see a separate post-tax reimbursement line item the way you would when you confirm a personal-card expense.
Limits, fees, and credit checks
There are no fees and no credit check to use Alice Card. You can spend up to the IRS monthly maximum for parking and transit (combined across Alice Card and your connected personal cards). The room resets every calendar month.

Savings shown or implied — including any reference to "cash back" or take-home pay — are illustrative. Actual savings depend on your tax rate, benefit elections, and eligible spending each pay period. "Cash back" in Alice's materials refers to the federal, state, and FICA payroll taxes you don't pay on eligible commuter spending. It is income tax you keep, not a cash payment from Alice, your employer, or any third party. Alice does not provide cash back, rebates, or any direct financial benefit in connection with the Program. Alice does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. Consult your own tax preparer, lawyer, or financial advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
