Why can’t I add my phone or email?

When enrolling with Alice, you may receive a message stating your phone number or email address is already in use. If you're having trouble adding your preferred phone or email address, please reach out and we'll be happy to help!


There are a few reasons why this can happen:

  • You already began enrolling with a different email address or entered your phone number.
    • Alice sends enrollment invitations to the email address your employer has on file in their payroll platform.
    • You may have begun enrolling at another time with your email address or already entered your phone number.
  • You were eligible for Alice with a previous employer and they had the same email address and/or telephone number on file.
    • No problem, we view email addresses as unique to people.
    • Reach out to let us know and we can make sure your information is associated with your current employer offering Alice and help you complete enrollment.
  • An Alice user was previously enrolled with this email address or telephone number.
    • Sometimes, employers reuse email addresses.
    • Telephone companies also reuse telephone numbers.
    • It's possible the email address or telephone number you're trying to register was in use with a previous Alice user.
    • Please reach out, and we can search our system to determine the trouble and find a resolution for you.
