Why can't I connect my bank?

Why can't I connect my bank?

If your bank or card is not connecting to Alice on the first try, the most common reasons are listed below. Most of them are easy fixes.

Common reasons

  1. Try a different search term. Use the bank's full name (for example, "American Express" instead of "Amex," or "U.S. Bank" instead of "us bank").
  2. No online banking yet. Alice connects through your bank's online login. If you have not set up online banking or a credit-card login, do that first.
  3. Smaller institution not supported. Some small banks and credit unions are not yet supported by our banking partners.
  4. Prepaid card. Most prepaid cards are not compatible with Alice.
  5. Apple Card or other no-third-party banks. Some issuers (Apple Card, for example) do not allow third-party connections at all.
  6. Store cards. Most retailer store cards are not compatible.

Banks not currently supported by our banking partners

  • Apple Card (Barclays, Goldman Sachs)
  • Cash App
  • Cred
  • Aspire
  • HSBC
  • Axos
  • Nordstrom
  • Care Credit
  • Synchrony
  • Washington State Employees Credit Union

If your bank is not on that list and you still cannot connect, tell us the exact name of the bank or card and we will look into it.
